This scholarship is for current high school seniors who have an outstanding achievement that has benefited their community. The achievement may be a long-term achievement, an activity or a project that occurred in school, in the community or in the workplace. You will need to complete online essay questions, carefully following the scholarship instructions. The application is open until December 15, 2013 or until they reach 10,000 applicants.
This scholarship is being offered to sixth to eighth graders. Students are asked to write an essay with the theme “What Patriotism Means to Me” and submit it by November 1, 2013. Essays should be between 300 to 400 words and you will want to follow the Judging Criteria carefully. Entries are to be submitted to your local VFW/Auxiliary Post where a local winner will be chosen and moved up. Nationwide, 46 awards will be given ranging from $500 to $5000. The $5000 first-place award winner will also win an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. for themselves and a parent/guardian.
University Language Services Photo Scholarship
This scholarship is already in progress but has several rounds, so it’s not too late to enter. High school students are invited to take photos as they visit prospective colleges. Then upload your best photo along with a 100-200 word description of why that photo represents what college means to you. There are two October deadlines with a final deadline of November 20, 2013. First place will win a $500 scholarship and second and third places each receive $100.
Remember, check in with highschoolpuzzle.com often – we’ll keep listing scholarships on a monthly basis as we find them!
