Keepers of the Constitution: Service and Freedom Video Scholarship Contest
For those of you who are into making short films – this scholarship is for you. Using this theme, create an inspiring video about why our freedoms, our Constitution and our Bill of Rights are worth defending; the price for protecting our freedoms; and our responsibilities as engaged citizens. Get creative and tell a story in three minutes or less and submit it to the Joe Foss Institute. The top 12 finalists will be selected via public voting and will then be judged on creativity, originality, theme development, qualify of the video and compliance with the rules. Three scholarships will be awarded: First place will receive a scholarship of $5000 and two runners up winners will be awarded $2500 and $1000 respectively.
Scholarships.com Resolve to Evolve Essay Scholarship
All high school students who are members of scholarship.com (and between the ages of 13 and 19) are invited to write a set of essays about creating change and proactively and progressively confronting challenges in our society. In this round of scholarships students are asked to write a 5000-character essay answering one of two questions about the need to attend college or the obstacles to getting there, as well as a 1200-character essay about his/her academic and career goals.
One winner will receive a $2000 scholarship. In addition a $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a winner from each grade level. Deadline for entries is September 15, 2014.

Do Something.org’s Everyone Deserves A Birthday Scholarship
Here’s yet another interesting scholarship opportunity from DoSomething.org. This one’s for you creative folks out there. The goal is to make homemade birthday cards for children in homeless shelters. There are at least 200 shelters across the U.S. that are participating – or you can deliver them to another shelter if you’d like. Simply take a picture and upload it. For every two cards you deliver, you receive one entry into a lottery to win a $10,000 scholarship. Check out all the detail HERE. The deadline to participate is October 17, 2014.
